Título: USING TASKS TO DEVELOP LEARNING STRATEGIES
Autor: Samantha Mesojedovas
Ano de publicação: 2013
This material presents a brief and general description of what is called learning strategy, mentions its different types, selects a few to be explained in a less generic way, provides examples and invites the reader to reflect on this subject and to come up with his/her own ideas on how to help students develop learning strategies. Ultimately, this work aims at raising the teacher’s awareness of how important it is to help students learn how to learn. Please note that this material is designed for self-study, but it also fits perfectly peer or group work. It is recommended that you avoid checking the answer key before you get to the end and that you follow the sequence as it is proposed, since the sequences of activities are meant to work more or less inductively. Título: USANDO CORPUS EM ATIVIDADES DE GRAMÁTICA
Autor: Daniella Alencar e Wendel M. Dantas - APLIESP
Título: TYPES OF ERRORS AND THEIR ROLE IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Autor: Merianye Souza - APLIESP
Ano de publicação: 2013
When we have any new experience, we make attempts and, as a consequence, we can commit errors before achieving our goals. These errors are the focus of this text, because they have a role to play in the acquisition of a foreign language. In this work, we will briefly analyze errors, how and why they happen, what categories of errors exist, how effective teaching is, among other considerations. Título: ORAL ERROR CORRECTION TREATMENT IN COMMUNICATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING
Autor: Karen M. Sillig - APLIESP
Ano de publicação: 2013
This work presents some principles and procedures related to oral error correction treatment in communicative language teaching, as this specific method demands a series of elements that goes beyond a mere teacher’s intervention or explicit feedback during the process of correcting a learner’s utterance. In the process, the reader will come across activities designed to create opportunities for concept-checking and applying the concepts in practice.
